Happy Tuesday friends! Today I am so excited to share about a special bagel shop that means so much to my mom and I and has the most delicious gluten free items. Everything Bagel is a true delight and the food is amazing and if you are near NYC or in NJ you need to go!
I first discovered Everything Bagel when it was located in Ridgewood, NJ (it has since moved to its new location a while ago) when mom and I had to stay in NYC area after her knee surgery for nearly a month. There had been some complications that forced us to stay in the area for several weeks and I started looking quickly around to find "real food" that we could eat on a daily basis. One early morning I came across Everything Bagel in Ridgewood and stepped inside... to a community. Y'all that is really the only way to describe how it felt. Immediately embraced with delicious and nourishing food and the kindest people, it became a favorite morning tradition that has continued every single time we are anywhere near the city. (We have literally driven over an hour out of the way to go to Everything Bagel it is that good and that precious).
Located in Paramus, NJ on Route 17 (483 NJ-17 S, Paramus, NJ 07652) it is the perfect place to stop and Elliot is amazing. Over the last two years we have enjoyed every single stop - been welcomed back each time we go, and it is a place that has truly found a way into our hearts and into our happy stomachs. *smiles*If you are gluten free and looking for true New York bagels that are delicious this is absolutely the place for you. One of my favorite things about Everything Bagels is that you can have Celiac (like I do) and enjoy everything in the shop but also go with someone who loves non-gluten free things because they handle both things there. My mom loves her NYC bagels and I love the gluten free ones- it is a win-win!
My favorite thing to order (and I am already dreaming of my next trip haha) is the gluten free everything bagel toasted with light butter, lox and onions. (Now before all of my New York friends start sending messages- I can't eat cream cheese so I know it is not a "technical" order haha- but y'all it is still delicious and the cream cheese does look yummy for those that can eat that!) My mom loves her bagel with eggs and for lunch we both enjoy a delicious sandwich!
I can't recommend a trip to everything Bagel ENOUGH. You will not be sorry at all. Good news also y'all- they ship bagels all over the country - so if you live far away do not be disappointed- you can also enjoy the goodness!! Read more on the website about ALL that they offer- I feel like two years later and we are still discovering everything delicious about this place! OH and did I mention the yummy desserts??!? Check everything out HERE!
Let me know if you have any questions friends! I love sharing about such yummy places to discover!
Happy Tuesday friends! I am so excited to share more about our trip to Florida and our amazing cruise that we took last month! Today I am specifically excited to share about our breakfast at the Kona Cafe that is located at the Disney World's Polynesian Village Resort.
As a bit of background before I share this- there was a mixup with our reservation. We had booked Ohana originally (or so we thought) and instead when we arrived found out we had been assigned to Kona Cafe. I am sure the mix up was ours somehow, but it was definitely different then we had thought we were going to eat. I would say that for what we were looking for (a really nice sit down restaurant for the morning) Ohana would have been the better fit. Another bit of something was in regards to allergies- which I explain later in the post. I wouldn't say that it was our favorite meal in anyway, but the grounds were beautiful and the best part was being together. *smiles*
I think that if you are traveling with kiddos, want a quick service meal, or are trying to catch a flight or head to the parks for the day- I would recommend Kona Cafe. I would also recommend if you do not have food allergies. But- if you have serious food allergies, are wanting a full sit down meal and want to relax and take your time and have a leisurely day in front of you (like we did) then check out Ohana.
One of our favorite things about our experience was the beautiful grounds of the Polynesian Resort. Our drive up to the entrance of the resort (which I had never visited before) was beautiful!
The oasis of tropical palms, lush vegetation and beautiful flowers was simply gorgeous. There was a feeling of outdoor island ambience everywhere you looked and for my ocean loving heart it was so beautiful!
If you know me well then you know one of my dreams is to visit Hawaii, so it felt like a taste of what I have imagined a visit to there would be like!
As you arrive you are greeted with so many beautiful details!
Walking into the open aired lobby was so gorgeous!
I am always amazed at the detail that Disney gives to everything- even to the light fixtures.
After dropping my sister and mom off at the front, I parked the car and headed into the lobby to make my way to the second floor where the Kona Cafe is located.
Haha! Look who was waving to me from outside the restaurant!
Kona Cafe provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is open to the public each day and reservations are recommended, but to be honest, I saw a lot of people walk in without reservations. If you are coming to visit Disney and use the Disney app you can arrange your reservations through the app for Kona Cafe.
For those who have food allergies like myself, one of the things that was delightful to discover was the options that Kona Cafe had for food allergies. When the reservations were made with the Disney app I had the opportunity to "forewarn" the kitchen of my allergies. I do have to admit though that this was the ONLY restaurant that I have ever been to on a Disney property where a waiter did not go over the restrictions I had. In fact- when I mentioned my allergies our waiter seemed a bit annoyed which I thought was just odd.
It was fine, and I had no issues with the food that I received, but one of the things about Disney restaurants is that typically the waiters go over these things at any sit down restaurant and usually it is never even a second thought about allergies. I was a bit surprised by this so as a warning this might happen for you or maybe the waiter was having an off day. Either way- the food was fine, but as someone who has health issues it is nice to know that Disney typically takes this type of thing more seriously than I experienced. If you have serious food allergies like myself than you know how it feels to enjoy a meal with no worries of cross-contamination. I admit, I wasn't as relaxed about my meal at this Disney property as I typically am, which I think changed my perspective of the experience and why I can't totally recommend this restaurant.
One fun thing about the property is that the Monorail stops right at this resort. After our breakfast we headed out for a fun ride around Disney on the monorail which you can read about HERE!
Happy Tuesday friends - I hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Tuesday friends! I am so excited to share more about our trip to Florida and our amazing cruise that we took last month! Today I am specifically excited to share about Three Bridges Bar and Grill at Villa del Lago that is located at the Disney World's Coronado Springs Resort.
Three Bridges at the Disney World's Coronado Springs Resort is located literally at the intersection of three bridges on the lake and is absolutely beautiful. Opening in July of 2019, this beautiful open air restaurant was the perfect first night meal after we arrived late in the evening on Wednesday night. The restaurant describes itself as the perfect place to unwind, and I couldn't have agreed more with that description.
After traveling the day before to NYC, then having appointments for my mom prior to our flight on Wednesday, the flight to Orlando, and then driving from the hotel to the resort, we were tired but it was SO beautiful to arrive here at this resort.
If you have been around this blog for any length of time then you know that this resort holds very special memories for me and when my sister surprised me with booking it, I literally had tears. I will share more about our stay in a different post, but suffice it to say, as I stood looking over the balcony this amazing view above was delightful in so many ways.
My mom and I also arrived hungry and were so glad to know that this restaurant was still open and so we took a beautiful walk around the paths to arrive at this beautiful place!
When we arrived we were told it would be about a 20 minute wait and it was such a beautiful evening that we opted to wait on the bridge, reveling in the beauty!
We were immediately impressed with the lovely welcome that we received and also the restaurant itself. Everyone was delightful and you truly felt like you had stepped into a different country with the water, the lights and the ambience.

Three Bridges provides dinner and is open to the public each day. It is my understanding that they do not take any reservations, but you will love the beautiful surroundings as you wait. and y'all the food was amazing. You can find the menus HERE!
It took us some time to decide on what we wanted (because everything looked delicious!) but we were all so excited with what we chose. Y'all. It was AMAZING. It was delicious and so yummy!! We started with the guacamole (and ended up ordering a second order because it was so yummy) and then split an order of the tacos (made allergy friendly). My mom and sister enjoyed some drinks and dessert and it was one of my favorite times of our entire trip.
Our table was right on the water and it was beautiful in everyway.
The views from the restaurant are so beautiful and so relaxing. While we hadn't been to the park that day, this space would be the perfect quiet space to unwind after a long day in the park!
We had the best time just sitting and chatting and talking as we were so excited to begin our adventure! We ended up spending two hours just relaxing there and it was one of my favorite meals that I ever had a Disney property!
For those who have food allergies like myself, one of the things that was delightful to discover was how much Three Bridges catered to my food allergies. When we sat down one of the first things that our waiter did was go over the restrictions anyone had. The waiter quickly and competently shared the items that would be best for me and also about the different items that could be tailored (including the the amazing tacos we shared!!) to be gluten free. As someone who has health issues it was nice to know that these options were available at the restaurant. It was refreshing to know that so much precautions were taken and I could enjoy my meal with no worries of cross-contamination.
After our meal we slowly walked back on the beautiful pathways and headed to our room!
I truly hope that y'all have the opportunity to go and eat at Three Bridges. You will truly enjoy it!
Happy Tuesday friends! I am so excited to share more about the trip to Florida that I took last week! Today I am specifically excited to share about Whispering Canyon Cafe that is located at the Disney World's Wilderness Lodge.
Whispering Canyon Cafe is one of the signature restaurants at the Disney World's Wilderness Lodge which is located in the heart of "the most magical place on earth". Our drive up to the entrance of the lodge (which I had never visited before) was beautiful! The rustic inspired majesty of the America's Great Northwest and National Park Lodges truly give a feeling of great outdoors while keeping the service that is fully Disney and yet a bit removed. We did not stay there, but loved the opportunity to use the My Disney App to book our breakfast there to start off our day.
Our reservation was for 9:25am and we arrived a few minutes early and it was so fun to see the beginning part of the resort. After we ate we took a walk around, which I will show pictures of a little bit later on in this post.
We were immediately impressed with the lovely welcome that we received and also the restaurant itself. It was fun. The energy inside the restaurant created such a fun atmosphere from beginning to end that it was the perfect beginning to our Saturday.
Whispering Canyon Cafe provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is open to the public each day and reservations are highly recommended. If you are coming to visit Disney and use the Disney app you can arrange your reservations through the app for Whispering Canyon Cafe. The menu for the restaurant is limited in its selections, but with lots of different options. You can find the menus HERE!
It took us some time to decide on what we wanted (because everything looked delicious!) but we were all so excited with what we chose. Y'all. It was AMAZING. It was delicious and so yummy!!
The restaurant is a lot of fun and there tons of laughter. There different quirks with things and you can even end up in "jail". The laughter in the room provided such a fun beginning to our day. We had the best time just sitting and chatting and talking! We ended up spending two hours just relaxing there and it was one of my favorite meals that I ever had a Disney property.
For those who have food allergies like myself, one of the things that was delightful to discover was how much Whispering Canyon Cafe catered to my food allergies. When the reservations were made with the Disney app I had the opportunity to "forewarn" the kitchen of my allergies. and when we sat down one of the first things that our waiter did was go over the restrictions I had. The waiter quickly and competently shared the items that would be best for me and also about the different items that could be tailored (including the the amazing waffles I had!!) to be gluten free. As someone who has health issues it was nice to know that these options were available at the restaurant even before we arrived. It was refreshing to know that so much precautions were taken and I could enjoy my meal with no worries of cross-contamination.
After our meal we had some time before our next adventure and so we decided to walk around the grounds and it was so pretty!
I truly hope that y'all have the opportunity to go and eat at Whispering Canyon Cafe. You will have so much fun!!
Happy Wednesday friends! As I mentioned in my post about a new direction that Caravan Sonnet is heading in (you can read more HERE!) I am excited to spend more time sharing about upstate New York, New York, and New England in my travel posts! Yesterday I shared that in the next few weeks I am excited to share with y'all some recap posts from the New England Winter Road Trip that I took with my mom 2 years ago about a month before the world stopped due to the pandemic! At the time I shared some posts about our trip, but with the way the world changed I didn't get to share everything and so I am excited to revisit this trip and share more! I hope that it encourages you to consider taking a road trip (in part or in whole depending on your circumstances) this winter to this beautiful place in the world!

Happy Wednesday friends! I hope your week is starting off well! Today I am excited to share more about our New England Winter Road Trip that we took in February! If you missed my post on Monday (click HERE) check it out so you can see the exact route that we took. Here is a general overview...
Our first stop that we made was in Concord, New Hampshire. Both of us had never been to Concord and we were excited to check it out! We arrived in Concord at lunchtime and we were so hungry! We planned to spend sometime exploring the downtown and historic area of Concord so we wanted to find a restaurant in that area.
We also both love Mexican food so it was an easy choice to try the New England Mexican Chain, Margaritas located in Concord. Margaritas has franchise sites in many states, but originated in New England.
It was incredibly chilly out that day so we were excited to be inside to snap a picture and also to start off our road trip! We loved this huge mirror that greets you on the way in!
We were taken downstairs to a booth and as we got settled in we realized the unique atmosphere of the building. We were sitting looking around and there were old jail cells that had been converted into additional seating space!
It turns out that this Margaritas is located in what used to be the Concord Police Headquarters and ail from 1890 to 1975! It was completely random, but such a fun twist on a restaurant location y'all!
We decided to order the fresh made guacamole which was really yummy y'all! I would definitely recommend it and then we also ordered vegetarian fajitas to split.
The portions were huge so we were glad that we split this lunch! Even splitting it we couldn't finish everything!
Aside from the portion size (which seemed just way to much!) the rest of our experience was okay. I would rate it about a 3 out of 5. Not horrible, but just okay. Our service was very slow, the server forgot our water drinks and also forgot some of our order, and when a large group came in the restaurant she seemed very overwhelmed and the service and kitchen seemed even slower. We did have to remind the server that we needed corn tortillas (after a conversation with me being gluten free) when they brought us flour tortillas, but they did apologize for this mistake. Thankfully I had no Celiac reaction to anything. Nothing was a huge deal about experience, but it just wasn't something that was that great.
Overall the food was okay, although I can't say that it was our favorite Mexican Restaurant (or restaurant in general) that we have eaten at. The food was nice, but I wouldn't say that this is a "must visit restaurant" to stop at in Concord. If you are looking for something that is near downtown and the historic district and want Mexican food it will be nice, but not outstanding. It was a disappointing start to our road trip, but both of us enjoyed the beginning because it was a new experience. One thing that I have said a lot on the blog and stand by is that it is not as much what you are doing, as much as who you are spending time with and we always have a blast!
I truly hope that this review has been helpful! Please let me know if you have any questions!!
Happy Monday friends! I am excited to spend the next couple of weeks sharing with y'all some recap posts from the girls trip that I took four years ago through New England, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia (along with some new posts from this time that I never shared also!)! I hope that it encourages you to consider taking a road trip (in part or in whole depending on your circumstances) this fall to these beautiful places in the world.

Happy Monday friends! I hope that you had a phenomenal weekend!
I am so excited to share more about our time on Prince Edward Island! After visiting Dalvay By the Sea we drove approximately 30 minutes into Charlottetown.
The PEI Tourism board had kindly given us tickets to see the Anne & Gilbert musical at the Guild and we were so excited to see this performance.
Y'all know how much I love theater and music so this was such a treat! We weren't allowed to take any pictures inside the theater but if you are in Charlottetown I definitely recommend adding this as something to see. It was adorable, cute, and quite well done. It made for an enjoyable afternoon!
After the performance we headed over to Casa Mia Cafe for a late lunch. I can't recommend this place enough. The food was delicious and honestly it was one of the best salads I have ever had. I am literally wishing I was eating it as I am writing this! *smiles*
After a leisurely lunch outside (the weather was perfect!) we headed down to this famous bookstore and spent some delightful time just browsing around. You know me and bookshops... I could spend hours. Hahaha I know many of you saw this picture on instagram... I was definitely in my happy place! *smiles*
We then walked around Charlottetown for a little bit more. Unfortunately all of the shops closed extremely early, but it was still a delightful time in the city! Soon I will be posting a Charlottetown Guide for those who are interested!
Thank you for continuing to read about our adventures throughout the recent trip through New England, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia!
