Happy Tuesday friends! As I mentioned here on the blog, mom and I were gifted (for a few days at Christmas) with the most beautiful and lovely stay at Inglewood Cottage in Pennsylvania (see HERE!). This was the most lovely gift and we excitedly looked forward to it for weeks and months. We would only have a couple of days in Lancaster and due to this we decided to leave on Christmas day to drive down to Lancaster (approximately 7 hours away). Prior to checking into Inglewood Cottage we stayed one night at Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square.
Due to a fuel leak at our house, we didn't leave for Lancaster until many many hours after we had planned and finally pulled in at approximately 11pm. Y'all we were exhausted and simply weary by the time we arrived. And y'all... the staff and this stay was wonderful.
From the moment that I walked into the beautiful lobby at the Lincoln Marriot at Penn Square I felt that I had stepped into a different world. The hotel lobby was beautifully decorated and warm and welcoming.
Each member of the staff that I spoke with was extremely kind and gracious and went out of their way to make all of their guests feel like they were valued and important. Checking in was easy and quick and finding out that street parking was available (for free!) was an absolute gift.
The Lincoln Marriot at Penn Square is located in the heart of Lancaster and was within walking distance to all of downtown. The location made it quick and easy to get to everywhere and yet, it was extremely quiet and peaceful. We slept so well and it was a lovely evening!
Our view outside our hotel room the next morning was simply stunning. This picture above doesn't do it much justice. I shared pictures on my IG of our room and view which you can see HERE.
Y'all know I love history and so one of the most amazing things about the hotel is that not only does it include amazing architecture, but also includes a preserved section of the Underground Railroad!!!
If you are traveling for personal or business reasons you will definitely find that you feel that you have stepped away from the busy and bustling city and traffic as the hotel property is very quiet, making it a restful retreat away from the hustle and bustle despite being right in the city!
I hope that y'all have found this review of the Lincoln Marriot at Penn Square helpful! Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this hotel! I would be happy to answer them!
Happy Saturday friends! I am excited to spend the next couple of weeks sharing with y'all some recap posts from the girls trip that I took four years ago through New England, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia (along with some new posts from this time that I never shared also!)! I hope that it encourages you to consider taking a road trip (in part or in whole depending on your circumstances) this fall to these beautiful places in the world.
It has been such a delight to share with y'all about our stay at Montgomery Inn at Ingleside this week (you can read more about the inn HERE and get a sneak peak into the first floor of the Inn HERE!). Today I wanted to take a moment to share about the room that we stayed at at the inn- the Senator's Suite.
The Senator's suite was absolutely wonderful. It is located on the first floor of the Inn right across from the dining room area. It is the only bedroom on the first floor.
The room was truly lovely. It is a large room that even included a window seat that you could sit and look out at the surrounding countryside! The charm of having a window seat in the place where Lucy Maud Montgomery wrote some of her books was simply precious. I sat with a book a couple of times in that window seat, over looking the countryside and also dreaming and thinking.
The Senator's Suite includes a private bathroom and has a large closet that was wonderful too. The room can be configured into a King bed, or if traveling with friends it can be converted into two twin beds.
The beds were incredibly comfortable and I loved the soft sheets that were on the beds. Both Ali and I remarked several times about the amazing sleep that we got in this restful room!
The cost of the rooms at Montgomery Inn at Ingleside range from $99-$189 for this previous season. Rooms are available for rent for overnight guests in May, June, September, and October. In July and August you can rent the entire Inn (all 7 bedrooms) for a weekly rental.
In addition to the Senator's Suite there are 6 other bedrooms (including the one that L.M. Montgomery stayed at during her childhood days) that are on the 2nd floor. If you are interested in reading more about those rooms you can do so HERE. I am a bit biased, but I loved the Senator's Suite and would definitely stay there again if I had the opportunity. *smiles* If you have any questions about Montgomery Inn at Ingleside, please don't hesitate to contact Paul or Michelle (contact information listed below) as they are truly wonderful and will help to answer any questions you may have!
I truly hope that y'all have the opportunity to go and stay at Montgomery Inn at Ingleside and experience the Senator's Suite. Please let me know if you have any questions and I am happy to answer them!

Happy Thursday friends!
Today I am so excited to share more about my trip to Prince Edward Island and specifically the inside pictures of our stay at Montgomery Inn at Ingleside. As I shared yesterday, our stay at Montgomery Inn at Ingleside was so wonderful and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
Today I am excited to share a look inside the first floor of Montgomery Inn at Ingleside.
As a bit of background, Montgomery Inn at Ingleside is the home of Lucy Maud Montgomery's grandfather, Senator Donald Montgomery. She grew up spending part of her childhood visiting her grandfather and nicknamed this home, "Ingleside". For those of you who are familiar with her books, her Ingleside Series of Books was based on her stays here at this home.
As I mentioned yesterday, Montgtomery Inn at Ingleside is a 4-acre homestead that was established in 1877 has been converted into a Canada Select 4-star Heritage Country Inn. The work that has been done to keep the integrity and authenticity of the history and yet modernize the home is absolutely incredible. I think y'all can see in these pictures just how amazing the interior is! (If you are interested in seeing the renovation pictures you can do so HERE!)
The front parlour has so many different unique items that showcase the rich history of Lucy Maud Montgomery and her family.
The history in this room was truly amazing.
The front hallway held some unique treasures.
This bookcase was simply amazing. There were tons of books from days of old, including many first editions of Lucy Maud Montgomery books.
The package above, that was addressed to L.M. Montgomery's grandfather was found in the restoration- still with the wrapping on it!
Across from our room and just beyond the bookcase was the dining room and then the kitchen.
All of the little details were truly incredible.
One of the areas of the house that has been transformed the most is the kitchen. It truly has kept the historical elements (notice the servants staircase in the last picture) and yet has modernized the home to make it practical for guests.
I hope that y'all loved this look inside Montgomery Inn at Ingleside!

Happy Wednesday friends!
Today I am so excited to share more about my trip to Prince Edward Island and specifically the amazing place we spent two nights on the Island at: Montgomery Inn at Ingleside. This is a post that I honestly have been excited to write and share about since May when I first touched base with Paul (the owner of Montgomery Inn at Ingleside) and decided to stay here.
Honestly, the build up of excitement of staying at Ingleside couldn't even compare to the actual experience. It was incredible. On the website it says that if you are a Lucy Laud Montgomery fan than you should stay at Ingleside... and this is true. As an author I was inspired, encouraged, and in awe of staying at this historic property. BUT, even if you are not familiar with L.M. Montgomery this is still a must stay place on the Island.
From the moment that you drive up to the property you feel that you have taken a step back in time to a different era. The outside building looks and feels quintessential Prince Edward Island and all things Lucy Maud Montgomery. I texted my mom a picture (this one HERE that I posted on Instagram) and said... "we arrived in Ingleside and can see the Lake of Shining Waters". For all of you L.M. Montgomery fans you understand the girly significance of this comment. *smiles*
This 4-acre homestead was established in 1877 has been converted into a Canada Select 4-star Heritage Country Inn. The work that has been done to keep the integrity and authenticity of the history and yet modernize the home is absolutely incredible. I can't wait to share more of the inside details with y'all tomorrow. It is truly amazing.
Within the home there are tons of different rooms (including for those who are L.M. Montgomery lovers a chance to stay in her old room!) and we stayed in the Senators Suite which I can't wait to share more with y'all in the next couple of days!
For Anne lovers this 4-acre property is an absolute dream as it is set right next to the Anne of Green Gables Museum and the famous Lake of Shining Waters.
This above map is located at the Anne of Green Gables Museum that shows all points "Anne" for those who are visiting the Island for this reason. You can see where the museum and the Lake of Shining waters is located and can see how central Montgomery Inn at Ingleside is. It truly is the perfect location to stay if you are an Anne lover.
For those of you who may be asking if it is worth a stay if you are interested in exploring the Island beyond "Anne" it is a definite "yes".
First, as you can see by the map I created above for our time in PEI, Montgomery Inn at Ingleside is centrally located to all different parts of the Island. We wanted to see and explore the Island in general and the central location of Montgomery Inn at Ingleside allowed us to easily do this. It took us no more than 1-2 hours to reach the different parts of the Island that we were seeing. As far as location goes it can't be beat.
Second, the stay itself was absolute perfection. Everything was immaculate and the details were beyond compare. Both Ali and I commented several times on how restful the environment was, how amazing it was to stay in such an historic place that still be provided amazing modern comforts, and just in general how wonderful our stay was. It was quiet, restful, and truly a haven. If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay on the Island then Montgomery Inn at Ingleside is definitely the choice. (Also, for those that are interested- breakfast is included in your stay!)
Third, the owners of Montgomery Inn at Ingleside were awesome. They were accommodating to our change in schedule and made it easy for us to get into the house. They were available for help and questions but we never felt that they were intrusive either. We felt complete freedom to come and go as we pleased and yet everything that we needed was taken care of. This is unique as we all know because sometimes things with an Inn owner can be a bit awkward. This was not the case with Paul and Michelle. Just like the rest of our stay they were incredible. In fact one evening we had spent the entire day exploring and came home after a later dinner. Despite the hour Paul came over to see if we needed anything which spoke to the compassion and professionalism that they have.
Fourth, Montgomery Inn at Ingleside is incredibly safe. For those of you are taking a girls trip like we were this is an important factor that you always consider. The property was incredibly safe and one evening when we came back a bit later in the evening from a late dinner we arrived to lights being on and a soft glow of warmth welcoming us in.
There is an access code for the key box and the locks on all of the doors. One night we actually had the house and property to ourselves and never once were concerned. We felt incredibly safe and would recommend this to anyone who is traveling for a girls trip.
Fifth and finally, the views and property are so peaceful and restful that you will not want to leave. From the moment you drive up you are surrounded by beauty on all sides that just draws you in and invites you to truly relax on your vacation.
One morning of our stay I got up early and came out to watch the sunrise. It was spectacular. I curled up on the front porch with a blanket scarf around me and just took in the beauty of the land before me. It was absolutely breathtaking.
Our stay at the Montgomery Inn at Ingleside was absolutely wonderful in every way. Even several weeks later I continue to talk about this amazing property. It truly welcomes your heart in and is wonderful and we would love to go back.
